Applications must be completed according to the instructions. Do not modify the application forms. In the case of formal deficiencies in the application, the Committee will request the applicant to correct them, with a notice that failure to do so will result in the application being left unprocessed.

Submission of applications:
Submit applications at the reception desk of the Faculty of Biology, UW, in three signed hard copies (double-sided printing), and obligatorily in electronic form (PDF or Word file – scanned files are not accepted) by email to: lke1waw@uw.edu.pl

Applications submitted after the deadline will be reviewed at the next Committee meeting.

The review period may be extended if the application contains formal deficiencies.

Due to the high number of applications, the Committee cannot guarantee review at the nearest meeting.

Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.

Please remember to correctly fill in:

  • the header
  • the experiment starting date (dd/mm/yyyy)
  • the full training course title
  • attachments (Yes/No)
  • correct names and registration numbers of user/breeder (as per registry)
  • classification of the procedure
  • statistical justification
  • justification for not using anesthesia
  • housing conditions
  • the 3R principle filled in as per instructions
  • non-technical summary in correct format and based on template/instructions

Applications to extend the experiment period should be submitted in accordance with the Committee’s meeting schedule. Note: The end date of the experiment cannot precede the date of the LEC meeting at which the application will be reviewed. Continuity of the experiment is based on the meeting date, not the submission date. Remember to submit 3 hard copies and send the electronic version.

Reception desk at the Faculty of Biology (in envelopes addressed to: I LEC Katarzyna Krawczyk). The envelope must include the date and time of submission, signed by the applicant. Applications without this information will not be considered at the meeting.

The I Local Ethical Committee for Animal Experiments in Warsaw covers part of the Masovian Voivodeship including the following counties: Mława, Ciechanów, Przasnysz, Ostrołęka, Maków, Ostrów, Pułtusk, Wyszków, Węgrów, Sokołów, Siedlce, Łosice, Mińsk, Otwock, Garwolin and the Warsaw districts: Śródmieście, northern Ochota (up to Banacha and Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 streets and even-numbered addresses on those streets), Wilanów, Praga Północ, Wawer, Targówek, Praga Południe, Wesoła, Rembertów.
