Spin-off companies of the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw
Employees and doctoral students of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw founded four companies with the participation of UWRC Ltd. – a special purpose vehicle of the University of Warsaw. AmerLab, DDG Bioinformatics and RDLS operate in a spin-off formula, while the Bactrem company was bought after the incubation period and is now an entity independent of the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw.
The aim of the companies anchored at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw is the commercialization of research results and the transfer of knowledge and technology to the industry. The Faculty of Biology of the University of Warsaw provides (on market terms) research infrastructure, laboratory and office space, and participates in research, implementation and training projects together with companies.
