AmerLab Laboratory for the Diagnosis of Parasitic and Zoonotic Infections is a modern diagnostic centre established by scientists from the University of Warsaw and the Medical University of Warsaw.
The Laboratory specialises in the diagnosis of parasitic, zoonotic, and vector-borne diseases, using modern technologies and the latest scientific developments. It offers microscopic and immunofluorescence tests, molecular diagnostics including the detection of pathogen DNA/RNA, and serological tests to determine the level of specific antibodies.
The team consists of recognised specialists:
- Dr Agnieszka Pawełczyk – an expert in parasitological diagnostics and tick-borne diseases, and the author of numerous scientific publications;
- Dr habil. Małgorzata Bednarska – a specialist in the diagnosis and prevention of parasitic diseases, cooperating with international research centres;
- Dr habil. Renata Welc-Falęciak, university professor – a biotechnologist and expert in molecular methods, and a recipient of numerous prestigious scientific awards;
- Dr Katarzyna Goździk – an experienced expert in zoonotic diseases, cooperating with recognised research centres across Europe.

BHUMI – www.bhumi.pl
BHUMI Sp. z o.o. develops environmentally safe agricultural and horticultural products designed to improve soil fertility and support soil regeneration, as well as to help remove harmful substances from the soil.
The company was founded by Dr Klaudia Dębiec-Andrzejewska, Dr Kumar Pranaw, and Prof. Łukasz Drewniak from the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, together with Anna Głowacka and Tomasz Koms. The company was established in September 2023. Its President is Dr Klaudia Dębiec-Andrzejewska, from the Institute of Microbiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw.
The company was created as a result of research carried out at the Institute of Microbiology. The team led by Dr Kumar Pranaw, worked within the TEAM-NET project of the Foundation for Polish Science on the use of elements present in fly ash. Based on these micronutrients, together with fungi and bacteria, the team developed products that stimulate plant growth and can be used in agriculture.
An important contribution also came from the LIDER project of the National Centre for Research and Development, led by Dr Klaudia Dębiec-Andrzejewska. The project focused on developing products aimed at improving the microbiological quality of soil, supporting plant growth, and increasing the effectiveness of biological soil remediation.
Unlike the TEAM-NET project, research carried out under the LIDER grant focused not on the cells themselves, but on the products of their metabolism, mainly siderophores.

Demetrius Lab Sp. z o.o. is an inter-university company whose shareholders include special-purpose companies of Lublin University of Technology, AGH University of Krakow, and the University of Warsaw, as well as the researchers who developed the solutions: Prof. Wojciech Franus, Prof. Tomasz Bajda, and Prof. Łukasz Drewniak, representing their respective universities.
The concept for establishing the company resulted from the TEAM-NET project funded by the Foundation for Polish Science and carried out by a consortium of the above-mentioned universities.
As part of its activities, the company implements services and solutions developed during the TEAM-NET project, as well as know-how and knowledge gained in earlier projects funded by the National Science Centre (NCN), the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), and the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP).
The company has benefited from the infrastructure and intellectual potential of the participating universities.
The company’s registered office is located at Lublin University of Technology. It is managed by a three-member Management Board headed by Prof. Wojciech Franus.
RDLS – rdls.pl
RDLS Sp. z o.o. was established in 2014 at the University of Warsaw as an initiative of scientists from the Faculty of Biology. The company’s aim is to implement inventions in the fields of bioremediation and biodegradation and to provide services related to environmental monitoring. Cooperation with the University of Warsaw gives the company access to specialised research equipment and enables continuous cooperation with leading specialists in microbiology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Our research and development activities focus on the use of microorganisms in bioremediation and biodegradation processes. We specialise in the removal of heavy metals and the degradation of petroleum hydrocarbons using passive bioremediation systems, biosorption, and biofiltration.
We offer microbial preparations that accelerate the degradation of organic compounds in anaerobic digestion processes used for biogas production, as well as through composting. Our portfolio includes ready-to-use technologies for the treatment of contaminated water and soil, as well as biopreparations that can be used in situ, in biopiles, or in closed systems such as bioreactors.
In our work, we use the research infrastructure of the Environmental Contamination Analysis Laboratory and the Institute of Microbiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. Research and analyses are carried out by University of Warsaw specialists in environmental microbiology and chemical analysis.
