J. K. Parnas Prize for a publication co-authored by researchers from the Faculty of Biology

The Main Board of the Polish Biochemical Society has awarded the Jakub Karol Parnas Prize for 2024 to the following team: Michał Brouze, Agnieszka Czarnocka-Cieciura, Olga Gewartowska, Monika Kusio-Kobiałka, Kamil Jachacy, Marcin Szpila, Bartosz Tarkowski, Jakub Gruchota, Paweł Krawczyk, Seweryn Mroczek, Ewa Borsuk, and Andrzej Dziembowski (corresponding author), for the publication: TENT5-mediated polyadenylation of mRNAs encoding secreted proteins is essential for gametogenesis in mice. Although the study was conducted primarily at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Olga Gewartowska, Kamil Jachacy, Marcin Szpila, Seweryn Mroczek, Ewa Borsuk, and Andrzej Dziembowski are also affiliated with our Faculty.

The Jakub Karol Parnas Prize is the highest scientific distinction awarded by the Polish Biochemical Society. It aims to honor the most outstanding research achievements of Polish biochemists published in high-impact scientific journals.
