Dr Klaudia Dębiec-Andrzejewska receives the Rector’s distinction for teaching excellence

We are pleased to announce that Dr Klaudia Dębiec-Andrzejewska from the Faculty of Biology has been distinguished in this year’s edition of the Rector’s Teaching Award of the University of Warsaw in the field of exact and natural sciences.
This prestigious award is granted to academic teachers who demonstrate outstanding achievements in teaching, employ innovative educational methods, and engage students in scientific projects and initiatives that go beyond standard academic instruction.
Dr Dębiec-Andrzejewska is a researcher in environmental microbiology and biotechnology. Her work focuses on soil microbiology, bacteria-plant interactions, and technologies supporting soil regeneration and plant biofortification. In her teaching, she combines extensive theoretical knowledge with hands-on research experience, actively involving students in ongoing projects.
She leads and participates in numerous national and international research projects and has completed scientific internships abroad, including in Italy. Her activities also include the commercialization of research results – she is the co-founder and CEO of the University of Warsaw spin-off company BHUMI, which develops innovative microbiological products for regenerative agriculture and industry.
This distinction is not only a personal success for Dr Dębiec-Andrzejewska but also a continuation of an exceptional streak for our Faculty – this is the fifth consecutive year in which a member of the Faculty of Biology has been among the laureates of the Rector’s Teaching Award.
