Formal Doctoral Graduation Ceremony for Researchers from the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw

On 13 June 2026, a formal ceremony was held at the University of Warsaw Library to honour individuals who had been awarded doctoral degrees in 2025. During the event, congratulatory letters were also presented to researchers who had received the degree of habilitated doctor in the same year.

The doctoral graduation ceremony is one of the most important academic events at the University of Warsaw. It marks the official culmination of many years of scholarly work and includes the presentation of commemorative diplomas and the taking of the doctoral oath by the newly promoted doctors. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of research conducted at the University and the role of supervisors and the academic community in supporting the development of new generations of researchers.

The ceremony was presided over by His Magnificence, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, Professor Alojzy Z. Nowak. It was also attended by members of the University’s Rectoral Team, the entire Dean’s Team of the Faculty of Biology, doctoral supervisors, directors of doctoral schools, chairs of the Scientific Discipline Councils, as well as the families and loved ones of those being honoured.

Nine researchers affiliated with the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw were among those recognised.

The award of a doctoral degree or the degree of habilitated doctor confirms a researcher’s academic achievements, research independence and contribution to the development of their discipline. This year’s ceremony provided an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of researchers from the Faculty of Biology and to thank those who supported them at successive stages of their academic careers.
