Prof. Łukasz Drewniak, PhD, DSc, and Magdalena Dyda, PhD, on Polish Radio’s “Eureka”

Prof. Łukasz Drewniak, PhD, DSc, from the Laboratory of Agricultural and Industrial Microbiology at the Institute of Bioengineering, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, and Magdalena Dyda, PhD, from the RDLS, a spin-off company of the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, were guests on “Eureka”, a programme broadcast by Polish Radio Channel One.

The conversation focused on practical applications of modern microbiology and biotechnology in environmental protection and the preservation of cultural heritage. Prof. Łukasz Drewniak discussed biological preparations supporting the bioregeneration of “tired” soil, including solutions developed as part of the BIOGLOBE project. Dr Magdalena Dyda presented methods for preventing and protecting valuable museum and archival collections against microorganisms, demonstrating how microbiological and genetic research helps safeguard national treasures.
