TEAM NET FENG grant from the Foundation for Polish Science for our researchers!
27 02 2026
The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) has announced the results of the second call (1/2025) in the TEAM NET programme, funded under the European Funds for a Modern Economy (FENG). The programme supports projects in sectors such as energy efficiency technologies for industry, next generation connectivity, digital tools improving safety at sea, solutions for agriculture and the circular economy, as well as projects in the area of human and animal health.
Among the 8 projects recommended for funding is the BIOGLOBE project, carried out by a consortium led by the University of Warsaw. The main researcher is Prof. Łukasz Drewniak (Institute of Bioengineering), who also serves as Vice-Dean for Finance at our Faculty. The project received funding of PLN 12,577,343.04.
The aim of BIOGLOBE is to find biological solutions that support the condition of soil affected by intensive agricultural production. The team will develop microbiological approaches that may reduce the effects of long-term herbicide use, support the microbiological balance of the soil, and increase plants’ resistance to environmental stress.
In total, FNP awarded almost PLN 90 million in this call. Besides the University of Warsaw, the following institutions also received support: Gdańsk University of Technology, Military University of Technology (Jarosław Dąbrowski), Lublin University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and Poznań University of Technology.
We warmly congratulate our researchers on receiving this prestigious funding and we keep our fingers crossed for the successful completion of all research tasks!
