17 12 2025
On 16 December this year, the traditional Faculty Christmas Gathering took place in the main hall of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw, an event that has become a permanent fixture in the academic calendar of our community. The ceremony was accompanied by a festive programme of Christmas carols performed by the ever-reliable Faculty of Biology Choir, which gave the meeting a truly seasonal atmosphere.
During the official part of the event, awards and distinctions were presented. Diplomas with honours for graduates of first- and second-cycle students were handed over by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs, Dr Takao Ishikawa. Next, the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Professor Krzysztof Spalik, presented awards to non-academic staff, recognising their daily contribution to the Faculty’s work and operations. The official ceremony concluded with the Vice-Dean for the Organisation of Research, Professor Anna Ajduk, presenting the Rector’s Awards for scientific publications to research teams, followed by Vice-Dean Ishikawa, who presented the Rector’s Awards for teaching achievements.
After the official proceedings, staff and students, in keeping with tradition, shared Christmas wafers, exchanged greetings, and spent time together in a warm, festive atmosphere.
