UniStem Day at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw

For the eighth time, the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, hosted the Stem Cell Day – UniStem Day. More than 300 high school students participated in the event, which took place on March 14, 2025.
The aim of the meeting was to promote reliable knowledge about stem cells, as well as cellular and gene therapies. This year’s edition saw participation from nearly 100 academic institutions worldwide.
The event at the Faculty of Biology, UW, was once again coordinated by the Department of Cytology and Dr. habil. Karolina Archacka, and included activities lead by teams from the Departments of Cytology, Embryology and Immunology. The UW Student Scientific Society of Medical Biology ‘Antidotum’ was also involved in the event.
The program included lectures, film screenings, workshops and a debate on the development of modern therapies, moderated by Karolina Głowacka from the Radio Naukowe podcast. The debate featured immunologist Dr. habil. Radosław Zagożdżon and neurologist Dr. Anna Łusakowska from the Medical University of Warsaw, Dr. Magdalena Mac from Worldwide Clinical Trials, and Dr. Andrzej Mizera from IDEAS NCBiR.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the University of Warsaw as well as the Voivode of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, the Mayor of Warsaw, and the Mayor of the Ochota district. The event’s partners and organizers included the Faculty of Biology UW, The Office of the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Warsaw and Capital City of Warsaw. The event received funding from the Excellence Initiative – Research University program implemented at the University of Warsaw.
