The 12th Conference of the Polish Society for Experimental Plant Biology at the Faculty of Biology

The 12th Conference of the Polish Society for Experimental Plant Biology (PSEPB) took place at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, on 9-12 September 2025. The event brought together over 200 researchers from Poland and abroad.

The conference offered a comprehensive overview of the latest achievements in experimental plant biology. The program featured over 100 posters, 60 oral presentations, and 17 invited lectures delivered within nine thematic sessions, covering topics such as DNA and RNA metabolism, proteomics, plant biotechnology, chloroplast and mitochondrial biology, plant development, and responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.

During the conference, awards of the Polish Society for Experimental Plant Biology were presented. The main PSEPB Award for “The best original research paper” was granted to Dr. hab. Łucja Kowalewska from the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, for the paper “Shrink or expand? Just relax! Bidirectional grana structural dynamics as early light-induced regulator of photosynthesis” published in New Phytologist. Co-authors of this publication from the Faculty of Biology are Dr. Radosław Mazur and Dr. Joanna Wójtowicz.

Among the poster awards, second place was awarded to MSc Martyna Koźbiał from the Department of Systems Biology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw.

The conference provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and fostering scientific discussions in the field of experimental plant biology.
