Our PhD students awarded KOPIPOL Scholarships for their scientific achievements

Two of our PhD students, MSc Wojciech Wilczyński and MSc Marcin Łukasz Żebrowski, have received a scientific scholarships from the KOPIPOL association for doctoral students with outstanding scientific achievements.

Wojciech Wilczyński is carrying out his PhD project under the supervision of Dr hab. Monika Radlińska from the Department of Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology (Institute of Bioengineering, Faculty of Biology UW) and  Dr hab. Andrzej Mikulski from the Department of Hydrobiology (Institute of Ecology, Faculty of Biology UW). His scientific interests include ecotoxicology and molecular biology.

Marcin Łukasz Żebrowski is working on his PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Mirosław Ślusarczyk and  Dr Piotr Maszczyk from the Department of Hydrobiology (Institute of Ecology). His research focuses on the effects of microplastic pollution at the population and community levels of zooplankton.

The scholarship was awarded as part of the 2nd edition of the scholarship programme for doctoral school students, carried out under the KOPIPOL Creative Support Fund. The programme was created to support PhD students with notable scientific and technical achievements. Over 300 doctoral students from across Poland took part in this year’s competition, and 30 scholarships were awarded.
