High school students at the Faculty of Biology as part of “Open Thursdays at UW” initiative

On December 4, 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting high school students from Warsaw. The visit was a part of the “Open Thursdays at UW” event, initiated by @Museum of the University of Warsaw.

The students attended a series of four lectures:

  • “About the history of the University of Warsaw” by Paulina Paul, MSc
  • “Where is nature conservation heading?” by Prof. Monika Mętrak
  • “Why should you study at the Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw?” by Dr. Takao Ishikawa
  • “How does the recruitment process work at the University of Warsaw?” presented by Agnieszka Ligęza, MSc.

Afterwards, they visited three of our Institutes:

  • Institute of Microbiology, with tours led by Prof. Renata Godlewska
  • Institute of Biochemistry, with tours led by Prof. Piotr Kozłowski and Dr. Joanna Trzcińska-Danielewicz
  • Institute of Experimental Plant Biology and Biotechnology with tours led by Dr. Alicja Sobkowiak.

We are very pleased to have been part of this initiative and warmly invite interested students to study biology at our Faculty!
