Biology, Biotechnology, and the new undergraduate program in Nature Conservation are the study opportunities offered by the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw for the 2025/2026 academic year. Admissions opened on June 5. The results will be announced on July 22.
The two existing programs – Biology and Biotechnology – have consistently ranked high in the annual „Perspektywy” rankings. Additionally, in the QS World University Ranking 2025, the discipline of Biology at the Faculty of Biology, UW, was ranked in the high 251–300 place out of more than 1,700 institutions worldwide.
Responding to modern approaches to science and education, the Faculty of Biology is launching a new undergraduate program in Nature Conservation in the 2025/2026 academic year. This unique program combines natural sciences and law, providing graduates with the tools to effectively protect the biosphere. Over the course of three years, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary for impactful professional work or further development in this important field. The Biology and Biotechnology programs (both undergraduate and graduate), as well as the undergraduate Nature Conservation program, are implemented in accordance with curricula available on the Faculty of Biology’s website.
Courses for these programs are conducted in lecture halls and state-of-the-art laboratories at the Faculty of Biology, as well as in the field stations: Białowieża Geobotanical Station, “Kumak” Masurian Biodiversity and Education Center in Urwitałt, and the Hydrobiological Station in Pilchy. Students also have the opportunity to participate in research conducted by the Faculty’s research groups.
These programs can also be pursued through individual interdisciplinary studies, such as those offered by the College of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and the Inter-Faculty Environmental Studies program, organized by the University Centre for Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development.
Registration for first-cycle and selected second-cycle programs in the Internet Candidate Registration (IRK) system began on June 5. The full admissions schedule is available on the University of Warsaw website.
