24 06 2026
Study programmes offered by the Faculty of Biology at the University of Warsaw have once again ranked among the best in Poland in the Perspektywy 2026 Ranking. Biology and Biotechnology took 2nd place nationwide, while the University of Warsaw was ranked joint 1st with the University of Gdańsk in the Environmental Protection category.
In the Biology category, the University of Warsaw received a ranking score of 93.2 and was surpassed only by Jagiellonian University. Biotechnology, assessed in the category of Master’s degree programmes, achieved a score of 98.4 and also ranked 2nd, behind only Jagiellonian University. Both programmes therefore maintained the positions they held in the previous edition of the ranking.
A particularly notable achievement is joint 1st place in the Environmental Protection category. The University of Warsaw received a score of 99.7 and shared the top position with the University of Gdańsk, which scored 100 points. According to the ranking rules, universities whose results differ by no more than 0.5% are classified in the same position.
It is worth noting that, from the 2025/2026 academic year, first-cycle studies in this field have been offered by the Faculty of Biology UW as part of the Nature Conservation programme, which replaced the former Environmental Protection programme.
