Dr Katarzyna Roguz among the finalists of the POLITYKA Science Awards 2026

Dr Katarzyna Roguz from the University of Warsaw Botanic Garden has been selected as one of the 15 finalists of the 26th edition of the POLITYKA Science Awards. Our researcher was recognised in the Life Sciences category.

Nearly 400 candidates were nominated in this year’s competition. The Professorial Committee selected 15 young researchers representing five areas of science. In the next stage, the Social Committee will choose five winners of the main POLITYKA Science Awards.

Dr Katarzyna Roguz is a researcher and lecturer at the University of Warsaw Botanic Garden. Her research focuses mainly on pollination biology and the evolution of floral traits in the context of plant–pollinator interactions. She also studies these interactions in urban environments, nectar properties, and the impact of environmental changes on complex relationships between plants, animals and microorganisms.

As the researcher explains: “For many people, a flower is mainly something beautiful. For me, it is a place where many worlds meet.”

The results of the competition will be announced and the main POLITYKA Science Awards will be presented on 18 October 2026.

We warmly congratulate Dr Katarzyna Roguz and keep our fingers crossed for her to receive the main POLITYKA Science Award!
