Almost the whole MIRACLE team took part in the 10th SER Europe Conference in Freising. They had the opportunity to present the project outcomes on special session entitled "Towards Enhancing Ecosystems Resilience in Fens", which started on the first day of the conference, 22nd of August 2016.

Two members of the Polish MIRACLE team, Łukasz and Klara, were participating in 58th Symposium of international Association of Vegetation Science in Brno, Czech Republic between 19th and 24th July 2015.

Between 27th of June to 3rd of July Norwegian Partners visited Poland for the excursion to polish peatlands. That was the fourth meeting of the whole project team - this time Norwegian Partners had the opportunity to become familiar with peatlands which are of everyday concern of Polish scientists.

We invite all intersted in the topic of global changes and environmental protection to join the screening of the "Home" movie on Wednesday, 22nd of April at Faculty of Biology.
Marcin Popkiewicz, the climate changes specialist and the author of "Earth at the crossroads" will introduce the subject of the film to the audience.

From 7th to 10th February 2015 Polish team met with Norwegian Partners in the midway between Trondheim and Warsaw - in Gdańsk.
The title of the seminar was "Functional Diversity and Modelling meeting", so the main discussions concerned the work package number 8 and 9.

On 1st February 2015 we had the pleasure to organize and take part in International World Wetlands Day.
As usual, celebration of the anniversary of signing the Ramsar Convention took place at Faculty of Biology. This year the catchword of the event was: „Wetlands for our future – join us!”.

We have the pleasure to invite all interested to the celebration of 44th anniversary of the Ramsar Convention for the Protection of wetlands. You are welcome to take part in open seminars and discussions which will take place on 1st February 2015 at Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw. Wiktor Kotowski, PhD, will introduce the topic of connection between climate and mires, and if you need more information about MIRACLE Project, you will have the opportunity to get some from our team, who will also participate in the event.

October 30, 2014 at. 2 p.m. in the assembly hall 9b at Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw, Interdisciplinary Seminar on Climate Change will take place. The special guest of the seminar will be Prof. Szymon Malinowski from the Department of Physics, University of Warsaw - editor of the scientific journal "Atmospheric Measurement Techniques" and www.naukaoklimacie.pl portal. He will deliver a lecture on "Global Warming by physicist's eye." Lectures on the relationship between climate and biological systems will be given by staff of the Institute of Botany, Faculty of Biology: Bogdan Jaroszewicz, PhD. - "Ecological effects of climate change" and Wiktor Kotowski, PhD. - "Climate change and wetland ecosystems." At the end, the plenary discussion will take place. We invite all interested.

Łukasz Kozub and Agata Klimkowska participated in the 9th European Conference on Ecological Restoration in Oulu, Finland (3-8th of August).

The Polish project team visited Norway between the 25th of June and the 5th of July 2014. During this expedition we met up with Norwegian partners and visited several study sites together. We explicitly didn’t visit the university but instead planned an intensive field expedition. An aim was to observe the variability of mire systems and specific factors for mire development in Norway and to visit the study sites, in order to explore the existing data and discuss the precise research questions in the field.

Project Promoter and Partner will meet for a second time on the field excursion in Norway between 25th of June and 5th of July. This will be a great opportunity for Polish researchers not only to visit Norwegian mires but also to re-discuss and improve issues connected with Project implementation.

On 31st March 2014 we invite all interested to the seminar on Conservation Biology, which will be devoted to the topic of eutrophication in terrestrial ecosystems, specifically to the (very relevant for mire conservation) question: Are plants adapted to low-nutrient environments are captured into evolutionary trap in the era of widespread eutrophication?
