Research areas:
Ecology of individuals, populations and cross-species interactions: food and predation in the shaping of population density and species composition of ecosystems. Evolution of behaviour, morphology, physiology and life history of aquatic animals (including plankton arthropods, molluscs, insects and fish). Aquatic vegetation, variation in its composition and distribution. Plant grazing and predation in lake littoral and pelagic regions. Ecological foundations of aquatic environment protection: factors responsible for lake eutrophication, bioindicators, determination of methods for water quality improvement and in particular biological methods connected with fish management and hydrophyte wastewater treatment.
